Though I am best known as a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, there are many other exciting things that define and engage me. During season breaks, I direct Stars of American Ballet, a chamber-sized group of top-level ballet dancers. We tour both nationally and internationally, bringing quality ballet and dance education and outreach to far-flung communities, including a thrilling trip to Mongolia and a tour of Hawaii. Our tour schedule this summer includes our first visit to Canada, to perform at a renowned arts festival.
This summer, Stars returns to Jacob’s Pillow for the second summer in a row, following our sold-out visit last year, for a five-day engagement that will feature works by Jerome Robbins, Justin Peck, and Christopher Wheeldon, among others. Principal and soloist dancers from New York City Ballet will be joined by star dancers from American Ballet Theatre and Boston Ballet. Our tour continues to Canada, the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, then on to Santa Fe, for our fifth year, and to some exciting new community programs in partnership with the National Dance Institute, which has a home there. In October, we’ll be performing in Kansas City, Missouri.

My work as a teacher and dance educator has expanded greatly in the past year. I am the Artistic Advisor to Manhattan Youth Ballet, the Co-Artistic Director of the New York State Summer School for the Arts in Saratoga Springs and a guest instructor at the School of American Ballet. I frequently travel to conduct workshops and master classes at ballet schools and other learning institutions throughout the country. My favorite annual event, Dance Against Cancer, which I co-founded and now co-produce and direct, absorbs much of my energy each spring, as this is a cause I hold dear. We have grown this event into a fund-raiser of considerable size and are extremely proud of all we have accomplished. You can click on the icon on this page to find out more information.
I hope you’ll enjoy navigating my site; there’s a lot to explore and more to come in the future. Watch this spot on my home page for news and updates on all of my work.
